Alcoholics Anonymous Australia

This website will give you an idea of what Alcoholics Anonymous may be able to offer you. But to understand how AA works, you will need to go to some AA meetings and meet people like yourself who had a problem with alcohol but are now recovering. You will meet hundreds of them who are now living happy, fulfilling lives without alcohol.
AA is an informal society of more than 2 million recovering alcoholics throughout the world. In Australia, there are about 18,000 members. They meet in over 2000 local meetings spread around the country. Meetings range in size from a handful in some localities to a hundred or more in larger communities.
Alcoholics Anonymous in Australia
Alcoholics Anonymous has many AA members and service committees who are available to provide professionals with information about Alcoholics Anonymous. AA has a long history of cooperating but not affiliating with outside organisations and being available to provide AA meetings or information about AA upon request.
For professionals working with people who have special needs they have AA material and literature in Braille, a video in Auslan (Australian Sign Language), easy-to-read larger print pamphlets, and much more.
